Day 2: Report

July 20, 2025 (Sunday)

This is the day that the Lord has made, we are here to rejoice and be glad in it! Even after a late arrival due to flight delays and getting to our villa after 12:00 AM, God was merciful and woke many of us with the roosters early! Some of us that did get up early enough were able to catch a beautiful sunrise overlooking the valley and mountainside - a view we get to see right at our villa! (See Picture).

After a quick team meeting at 9:30 AM and being prayed for and blessed by Missionary Kimberley, we made our way to La Vid Church for Sunday Worship. Pastor James brought God’s Word as Jerfelis interpreted. We were blessed with their incredible praise team leading us in a powerful time of worship! We were also able to walk behind the church campus where we will be working together on their new classrooms for their Children’s Ministry and office space. To think that only 3-years ago, there was an empty lot, but by God’s providence and generosity of many in our NY Reformed Coalition of churches, God has helped this project near the finish line!

After worship, we made our way back to our villa (about a 25-minute) drive to get ready to host the Leadership Luncheon for La Vid Church Pastors, Deacons, and their families. Josie, Missionary Kimberley’s sister-in-law, who is blessing us with her cooking this week helped prepare an incredible feast! As we were eating lunch, praying, and spending time in fellowship with one another God really used this moment to nourish and serve these incredible Kingdom leaders. It truly was a blessing to see the pastors and their families be nourished literally and spiritually. It was also a blessing to witness their children enjoy the pool at our villa! Members of the Mission Team even reflected on how it felt like we were able to provide a 1-day retreat for them. We are grateful for the encouraging space and time that we were able to spend together.

After our dinner, we had our team meeting where we were able to share our “Jesus Moments.” Hearing how Jesus spoke and worked through each member of the team was just a powerful reminder with how the Lord is working.

Please continue to keep us in prayer as we begin our ministry projects tomorrow! One team will be working on a construction project at the church campus; a second team will be working in the local village community center, supporting Missionary Kimberley and leading a special program for the mothers. Please also pray for good health and protection!
